Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
As at 9am today (November 16), one COVID-19 confirmed patient (case number: 12343) was discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours and will continue with the 14-day post-discharge isolation.
In addition, six patients under isolation orders (case numbers: 1470, 4087, 7468, 8018, 8078 and 9907) who have been released earlier by the Department of Health (DH) upon recovery and are meeting the discharge criteria, have to remain hospitalised for rehabilitation or convalescence. After discussion with the DH, the Hospital Authority (HA) decided to categorise these patients as being discharged beginning today. In total, 12 099 patients with confirmed or probable infection have been discharged so far.
In view of the latest COVID-19 epidemic situation, all confirmed patients will be admitted to either the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre or the HA Infectious Disease Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital starting from today for more focused manpower deployment and enhanced infection control arrangements. Currently a total of 40 confirmed patients are hospitalised in the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre and the HA Infectious Disease Centre, and all of them are in stable condition.
The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
