Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     According to the updated criteria for releasing confirmed COVID-19 patients from isolation stipulated by the Government earlier, patients who meet the discharge criteria will be subject to a 14-day isolation and health monitoring after being discharged from hospital. With the availability of an isolation facility arranged by the Department of Health, the Hospital Authority (HA) will progressively arrange the transfer of patients meeting the discharge criteria to the facility to continue their 14-day post-discharge isolation and health monitoring.

     As at 9am today (November 11), one COVID-19 confirmed patient (case number: 12287) was discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours and will continue the 14-day post-discharge isolation. So far, a total of 12 037 patients with confirmed or probable infection have been discharged.

     At present, there are 596 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1 061 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 89 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in eight public hospitals and the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, and all of them are in stable condition.

     The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
