Rioters gathering in Mong Kok escalated their violence tonight (October 31). At 9.30pm, rioters built barricades and set them on fire on Dundas Street and Nathan Road in Mong Kok. A fire engine was summoned to the scene but was once obstructed by rioters and could not proceed.
Rioters’ acts posed serious threat to everyone’s safety. Obstructing fire services is not tolerated. Police warn all rioters to stop all illegal acts and appeal to bystanders to stay away from any danger and leave immediately. Police also remind members of the public and drivers to avoid travelling to the vicinity of Prince Edward, Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei.
