Principal Officials of HKSAR Government continue year-end caring visits in 18 districts (with photos/video)

     The year-end caring visits in 18 districts co-ordinated by the Home Affairs Department continued today (January 27). Principal Officials (POs) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government continued to tour various districts today, including Sai Kung, Central and Western, Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong, Yuen Long, Sham Shui Po, Eastern, North, Wan Chai and Tai Po Districts, to visit different families and chat with them, learn about their living conditions, distribute blessing bags in celebration of the Chinese New Year, share the festive joy and celebrate the Chinese New Year together.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Sai Kung), Miss Kathy Ma, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, and the Permanent Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Ms Shirley Lam, together with Sai Kung District Council members and representatives from the District Services and Community Care Team (Care Team) (Sai Kung) visited elderly singleton and elderly doubleton grassroots families living in Po Lam Estate, chatted with them and celebrated the festive joy together. Accompanied by the District Officer (Central and Western), Mr David Leung, and the Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam, SC, together with Central and Western District Council members and representatives from the Care Team (Central and Western), the group visited elderly doubletons and an elderly singleton living in Kennedy Town to learn about their daily lives and needs, and present them with Chinese New Year blessing bags to share the festive joy of the Chinese New Year together.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Tsuen Wan), Mr Billy Au, the Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Michael Wong, together with Tsuen Wan District Council members and representatives from the Care Team (Tsuen Wan) visited elderly doubleton, grassroots and ethnic-minority households living in Lei Muk Shue Estate. Accompanied by the District Officer (Kwun Tong), Mr Denny Ho, the Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, together with Kwun Tong District Council members and representatives from the Care Team (Kwun Tong) visited an elderly singleton and a person with disabilities living in Choi Ying Estate.
 
     Accompanied by the District Officer (Yuen Long), Mr Gordon Wu, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Algernon Yau, together with a Yuen Long District Council member and representatives from the Care Team (Yuen Long) visited elderly persons and grassroots families living in Pat Heung Sheung Tsuen. Accompanied by the District Officer (Sham Shui Po), Mr Paul Wong, the Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho, together with Sham Shui Po District Council members and representatives from the Care Team (Sham Shui Po) visited an elderly singleton and a single-parent family living in transitional housing in Sham Shui Po.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Eastern), Mr Simon Chan, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, together with an Eastern District Council member and representatives from the Care Team (Eastern) visited elderly doubletons living in Siu Sai Wan Estate. Accompanied by the District Officer (North), Mr Derek Lai, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Ms Mable Chan, and the Under Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Liu Chun-san, together with a North District Council member and representatives from the Care Team (North) visited elderly singletons and a grassroots family living in Po Shek Wu Estate.

     In addition, accompanied by the District Officer (Wan Chai), Ms Fanny Cheung, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, together with Wan Chai District Council members and representatives from the Care Team (Wan Chai) visited elderly doubleton and grassroots families living in Lai Tak Tsuen. Accompanied by the Acting District Officer (Tai Po), Mr Johnny Kwok, the Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Ho Kai-ming, together with Tai Po District Council members, the Chairman of the Tai Po Rural Committee and representatives from the Care Team (Tai Po), visited elderly singletons, elderly doubletons and grassroots families living in Sam Mun Tsai New Village and Luen Yick Fishermen Village.

     The POs of the Government will continue to visit different families tomorrow (January 28) to extend care and blessings and bring festive joy to the public.
