Prince of Wales Hospital makes public appeal to help locate missing patient preliminarily positive for COVID-19

The spokesman for Prince of Wales Hospital made the following appeal today (February 13) regarding a patient preliminarily positive for COVID-19 leaving the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) without notifying hospital staff:
A 86-year-old male patient, who tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19, was found leaving the hospital without notifying A&E staff while awaiting for admission for isolation treatment at A&E Department at around 2pm today.
Upon departure of the patient without prior notice, security guards were deployed to search for the patient within the hospital compound and the vicinity. The hospital also reported to the police for assistance. The hospital is very concerned about the incident and will fully co-operate with police to locate the patient.
The patient is about 1.65 meters tall, medium-built, with short and greyish hair. According to CCTV footage, he was wearing a red checked long-sleeve shirt and dark trousers when leaving the Accident and Emergency Department.
The hospital appeals to the public to contact the police or the hospital hotline at 3505 2786 if they know the whereabouts of the patient.
