The U.S. Department of State’s United States Diplomacy Center is pleased to announce ImpactHack, a data visualization hackathon to demonstrate the impact of diplomacy and international collaboration.
Around one hundred competitors are expected to compete for the cash award and the chance to create digital interactives for the Diplomacy Center museum. ImpactHack aims to utilize innovative technology to make topics of global consequence–diplomacy, development, and the environment–more understandable to the public.
The event is co-hosted with World Resources Institute and sponsored by Amazon Web Services. The kick off event will take place at the Department of State Diplomacy Center pavilion Friday, September 21st, followed by the main event at World Resources Institute headquarters September 22nd.
The United States Diplomacy Center is the first museum and education center dedicated to telling the story of American diplomacy. The Center’s mission is to inspire discovery of how diplomacy shapes our nation’s prosperity and security.
World Resources Institute is a global research organization that spans more than 60 countries. Their more than 700 experts and staff work closely with leaders to turn big ideas into action to sustain Earth’s natural resources—the foundation of economic opportunity and human well-being.
