Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan met today with Bruneian Foreign Minister II Dato Erywan. Deputy Secretary Sullivan congratulated Foreign Minister II Dato Erywan on his new position in Brunei’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and reaffirmed the strong bilateral cooperation between the United States and Brunei Darussalam. The two leaders discussed continued cooperation on regional challenges, including the South China Sea and denuclearization of the DPRK.
