We join the international community in mourning the passing of Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, the Executive Director of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA). During his six and a half year tenure at the helm of UNFPA, Dr. Babatunde was a tireless advocate for the health of women and girls, pressing for stronger, more affordable and accessible maternal health and reproductive health care services for millions of women in the developing world. We send our deepest condolences to Dr. Osotimehin’s family and colleagues at UNFPA and throughout the UN system.
