Police open fire in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a Police open fire case in Sham Shui Po this morning (November 7).

     At about 7.40am, while police officers were conducting an anti-crime patrol in Sham Shui Po MTR Station, they found a suspicious 55-year-old man. When officers intercepted the man, the man took out a cutter from his backpack, extended the blade and attacked officers. The officer gave verbal warning to the man but in vain and fired one shot at the man. The man was subsequently subdued by officers.

     The 55-year-old man was arrested for assaulting police officer and possession of offensive weapon. He sustained injuries on abdomen and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West is underway.
