Police arrest 43 persons for illegal acts in various districts
Some people called for members of the public to participate in public events in various districts in Hong Kong last night (June 12).
Some crowds gathered and behaved in a disorderly manner in the vicinity of Causeway Bay, Yuen Long, Mong Kok and Kwun Tong last night. Some threw hard objects from height targeting police officers on Shantung Street, Mong Kok. After repeated warnings had gone futile, Police conducted dispersal and arrest operations.
As at 0.30am today (June 13), Police have arrested 43 persons, including 28 males and 15 females, for offences including wounding, unlawful assembly, participating in an unauthorised assembly, disorderly conduct in a public place and possession of offensive weapons.
Police condemn the illegal acts of the protestors. Police will take resolute law enforcement actions against offenders and bring them to justice.
