Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital announces passing away of COVID-19 patient
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
The spokesman for the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) today (August 3) announced that a 75-year-old female COVID-19 confirmed patient (case number: 595) passed away at 9.44pm this evening.
The patient was admitted to the Hospital on March 29 after coming back from the United States, with fever and cough on admission. Her condition deteriorated rapidly on April 1 and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. Her condition further deteriorated while on treatment and she eventually succumbed at 9.44pm today.
The Hospital was saddened about the passing away of the patient and would offer necessary assistance to her family members.
Including the above case, 38 COVID-19 patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
