The spokesperson for Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) today (December 17) announced that a patient confirmed with COVID-19 passed away today.
A 89-year-old female patient (case number: 7345) with chronic illness and close contact history was transferred to the PYNEH on December 9 due to cough. She was subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted to the isolation ward. Her condition continued to deteriorate and she eventually succumbed at 4.51pm today.
The Hospital was saddened about the passing away of the patient and would offer necessary assistance to her family members.
Including the above case, 122 COVID-19 patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
