Over 1 000 vacancies on offer at New Opportunities-New Terrain Job Expo

     The Labour Department, together with the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will hold a large-scale job expo at Hong Kong Polytechnic University on October 25 and 26.

     A total of 46 well-known enterprises from the Mainland and Hong Kong will participate in the expo, offering over 1 000 job vacancies. Participants include a number of integrated enterprises and others from sectors including banking, finance, insurance, communications, transport and the import and export trade. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as bank officer trainee, product engineer, management trainee, actuarial analyst, senior programmer, business analyst, laboratory assistant, human resources and administrative assistant. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Most of the vacancies are full-time jobs, the majority of which require secondary education level or above and are suitable for young job seekers with post-secondary educational attainment. 

     In addition, Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited will set up a special counter to introduce the development and the start-ups competition in the Qianhai Region of Shenzhen, as well as the opportunities offered by the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub for start-ups. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Shanghai Youth Association will introduce its employment programme in Shanghai.

     The job expo will run from 11am to 5.30pm at Podiums CF, FG and FJ of Hong Kong Polytechnic University (near Hung Hom MTR Station Exit A1 or D1). Admission is free.
