Getting things done – Riverside Drive – an update #dundeewestend

Residents will recall that I previously reported that the Tay Rail Bridge Disaster Memorial – on its side facing the river – was starting to wear, making the writing difficult to read – see below – and removing parts of the mural – see first photo :


I took this up with the council’s Public Art Officer who kindly made arrangements for the wording to be refreshed.    This has now been done and the result is excellent as the second photo shows :

REPORT FOR WEST END WARD – WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 18 APRIL 2022
Westgrove Avenue (Farington Street to No 8 Westgrove Avenue) – closed from Monday 18 April to Wednesday 20 April for Scottish & Southern Energy Networks work.
Scott Street (Ashbank Road to Glenagnes Road) – closed on Monday 18 April for Scottish Water work.
Road at Thomson Street – 2 way temporary lights from Monday 18 April for 2 days for CityFibre works.
Perth Road at West Park Road – 3 way temporary lights on Wednesday 20 April for CityFibre works.
Forthcoming Roadworks
Greenmarket (access road) – closed approximately 100m from junction with South Marketgait for sewer connection from Monday 25 April for 2 weeks.
Riverside Avenue (at Premier Inn) – westbound nearside lane closure on Wednesday 27 April for Scottish Water work.
Blackness Avenue (Perth Road to Shaftesbury Road) – closed on Monday 2 May for CityFibre works.
Osborne Place – road closed from Monday 3 May for 4 days for carriageway resurfacing.
Hawkhill (Blackness Avenue to Bellfield Street) – closed eastbound from Thursday 5 May for 3 days for CityFibre works.

Temporary Traffic Order – Scott Street

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

THE DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL AS TRAFFIC AUTHORITY being satisfied that traffic on the road should be prohibited by reason of Scottish Water ironwork repairs being carried out HEREBY PROHIBIT the driving of any vehicle in Scott Street (between Ashbank Road and Glenagnes Road), Dundee.

This notice comes into effect on Monday 18 April 2022 for one day.
 
Pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained.

Alternative routes for vehicles are available via Glenagnes Road / Blackness Road / Balgay Road / Pentland Avenue.
