On 30 November – 1 December, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation will chair in Sochi a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The meeting will also be attended by high representatives of the SCO observer states and partner international organisations.
The participants will focus on issues related to further advancing and intensifying trade, economic and cultural cooperation within the SCO. The heads of government will outline practical measures to bring a new dynamism and quality to joint efforts in these areas, primarily in the context of implementing the List of Measures for the Further Development of SCO Project Activities for 2017 – 2021, developing financial mechanisms, and invigorating the operations of the SCO Business Council and the SCO Interbank Consortium.
The signing of the Agreement on the Procedure for Drawing up and Executing the SCO Budget and the adoption of decisions related to the organisation’s activities are planned for after the meeting.
The parties’ coordinated approaches will be reflected in a Joint Communique.
Dmitry Medvedev will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with foreign partners.
