North Lantau Hospital announces complaint of suspected inappropriate physical examination by healthcare staff member

The spokesperson for North Lantau Hospital (NLTH) announced a complaint of suspected inappropriate physical examination by a healthcare staff member today (February 23):
NLTH received a complaint from a female patient on February 15, according to which a healthcare staff member was suspected of conducting inappropriate physical examination during consultation.
NLTH is highly concerned about the incident and launched an investigation immediately. NLTH has reported the incident to the Police and will fully co-operate with the Police on the investigation.
NLTH has been in contact with the patient after receiving the complaint and will continue to render necessary assistance to the patient concerned. The staff member involved in the incident has been posted out from clinical duties involving direct patient care. NLTH has also reported the incident to the Hospital Authority (HA) Head Office.
The HA attaches great importance to patient safety and always requires staff members to uphold professional ethics stringently. The HA will not tolerate any inappropriate behaviour to patients and will follow up stringently if any inappropriate conduct is found.
