Sellafield Ltd is testing its emergency arrangements at Sellafield on Wednesday 4 October
Exercise ‘OSCAR 12’ will test our emergency response arrangements at Sellafield, including how people on the site respond to emergency alarms, such as the site siren and building announcements.
The exercise will also include ‘live play’ in some of our facilities to test building arrangements and to make the exercise as realistic as possible for our emergency response teams.
It is part of our annual programme of emergency exercises designed to test our emergency preparedness, and our performance will be assessed by the Office for Nuclear Regulation.
The site siren will be sounded as part of the exercise and may be heard off site.
