The "Dance for All" Community Care Inclusive Dance Scheme, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will present "Joyful Dance Piazza Performances" by DancingAndy and Dancers this Sunday (January 5) at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza C. There will be two performance sessions at 1pm and 3.30pm, featuring over 10 inclusive dance groups and nearly 200 performers, all aiming to promote harmony between disabled and non-disabled individuals through dance. Members of the public are welcome to enjoy the performances and participate in interactive dancing sessions.

Veteran local dance artist and Artistic Advisor of the scheme, Andy Wong, along with professional dancers, will perform alongside inclusive dance groups, special school students and individuals with different abilities. Opening the event will be a modern dance performance by the St. James' Settlement's Dancing Heart Troupe, which is the first local professional dance group comprising individuals with intellectual disabilities. Another highlight will be a wheelchair dance performance by the China Hong Kong Para Dance Sport Association. This association recently won one gold, three silver, and one bronze medal at the 2024 Para Dance Sport International Competition and was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the 9th Hong Kong Games.

Other participating organisations include the Caritas Lok Hang Workshop "Dansalogue", Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong Chung On Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, Delia English Primary School & Kindergarten (Mei Foo Primary), Ebenezer New Hope School, Haven of Hope Tseung Kwan O and Sai Kung District Support Centre "Dance Training for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities", HHCKLA Buddhist Po Kwong School Junior Dance Group and Parent-Child Dance Group, Hong Kong PHAB Association Stanley Shek O Neighbourhood Elderly Centre Elderly Dance Group "Dance Up", Mary Rose School, St. James' Settlement Dancing Heart II, and The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Wong Tai Sin Wellness Support Centre Dance Group.      The 15-month "Dance for All" Community Care Inclusive Dance Scheme was first introduced by the LCSD in May last year with Andy Wong serving as Artistic Advisor. Basing at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the scheme includes a series of dance performances featuring disabled persons as performers, workshops, exhibitions, in-school training classes tailored for special schools, finale performances and more.
