Police are investigating a murder case happened in Yau Ma Tei yesterday morning (July 28) in which a man died.
At about 6am yesterday, Police received a report that a man was found lying outside 61-63 Pilkem Street.
Police officers sped to the scene. Sustaining head injuries, the 33-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.22am.
After initial investigation, Police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman in Kowloon City and Yau Ma Tei respectively for murder yesterday. Investigation revealed that the arrested man was suspected of assaulting the deceased with a hammer and fled afterwards.
Police also arrested a 34-year-old woman, a 42-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man in Kowloon City for assisting an offender yesterday.
The five arrested persons are being detained for further enquiries.
Six fishing game machines and a batch of drug-inhaling apparatus in suspected connection with the case were seized from a unit on Pilkem Street.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad Team 3 of Yau Tsim District are under way.
