Murder and suicide in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Castle Peak today (June 14) in which a 66-year-old man and his 60-year-old wife died.

     At about 3.40am, Police received a report from a passerby that a man was lying on a platform on 1 Tuen Shun Street. He was suspected of falling from height.

     Police officers sped to the scene and located the 66-year-old man. Sustaining multiple injuries, he was certified dead at scene. Officers later located the man’s 60-year-old wife lying inside a unit on 1 Tuen Shun Street. Sustaining injuries to her neck, she was conveyed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 5.25am.

     Initial investigation revealed that the 66-year-old man had attacked his wife before falling from the unit.

     A knife in suspected connection with the case was found inside the unit.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the causes of their deaths.

     Investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun District is underway.
