The Transport Department (TD) reminded the public today (September 29) that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival (October 1).
Major public transport services (including MTR, franchised bus, tram, green minibus and ferry) will maintain their normal service hours. The public transport operators may strengthen the services subject to demand when necessary, and some special bus services will be operated.
In view of the cancellation of major festival events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no relevant road closures on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon during the Mid-Autumn Festival. However, in individual districts of the New Territories (including Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan and Ma On Shan), separate road closure arrangements and traffic control measures will be implemented.
Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements in individual districts are available on the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk).
Members of the public are advised to make use of public transport services to avoid traffic congestion and unnecessary delays. The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures when necessary. The public should pay attention to the latest traffic news as announced on radio and television or publicised through the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility".
