Meter reader of Water Supplies Department preliminarily tests positive for COVID-19

     The Water Supplies Department (WSD) today (January 31) said that a meter reader preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (January 30).

     The staff member last performed his duties in the morning of January 29. He mainly performed the tasks of meter reading in the meter rooms of buildings in Ma On Shan, Tai Po and Sha Tau Kok, as well as at some village houses in the areas, recently. He had worn face masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work. 

     The WSD has thoroughly cleaned and sterilised the staff member's office, located in Kwong Fuk Estate, Tai Po. The staff who had close contact with him at work have undergone COVID-19 testing. 

     During the pandemic, the WSD has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures, including providing masks and other personal protective equipment for staff. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
