Meeting arrangements of LegCo and its Committee and public service under adverse weather conditions

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
 
     With severe tropical storm Kompasu edging closer to Hong Kong, the meeting arrangements of the Legislative Council (LegCo) and its Committee as well as the service provided by the Public Complaints Office for tomorrow (October 13) will be as follows:
 
LegCo meeting
 
     1. if a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal remains in force at 9am tomorrow, the meeting will not commence at 11am; and 

     2. as and when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled, the LegCo President will, having regard to the then prevailing weather and transport conditions, decide if and when to hold the above meeting tomorrow. 

Policy Briefing of Panel on Development
 
     If a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal remains in force at 7am tomorrow, the policy briefing will be cancelled.
  
Public Complaints Office
 
     The service of the Public Complaints Office will be suspended when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is in force. The service of the Public Complaints Office will resume around two hours after the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled. However, if the above Signal is cancelled at or after 3pm, service of the Public Complaints Office will be suspended for the whole day.
