Maintenance surveyor of Housing Department tests preliminarily positive for COVID-19
The Housing Department yesterday (January 25) learned that a maintenance surveyor had tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
As his office was near to that of a previous preliminary confirmed case reported on January 23, he took the COVID-19 test on January 24, and preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (January 25).
He worked at the Housing Authority Headquarters in Ho Man Tin. Since the earlier preliminary confirmed case was reported, all staff working in the same office had been arranged to work from home and were recommended to take a COVID-19 test. Therefore, he last worked in the office on January 21. He did not have contact with members of the public recently while performing duties. He had been wearing masks and following relevant disease prevention measures at work.
The office has been fully cleaned and sterilised in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP).
The Housing Department will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP and co-operate with its disease prevention measures and quarantine work.
