Live relays of London Symphony Orchestra at various LCSD venues
The world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra will stage three concerts under the baton of Music Director Sir Simon Rattle to help mark the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC).
The concerts, which will also feature talented local pianists Colleen Lee and Aristo Sham, as well as the Grammy award-winning pianist Emanuel Ax, will be staged at 8pm on September 22, 24 and 25 (Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday) at the HKCC's Concert Hall.
To allow a larger audience to watch the orchestra's performances, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will arrange live relays at the Piazza of the HKCC and the Auditoria of Tsuen Wan Town Hall, the Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall. Pre-concert "Chit-chat" talks (to be conducted in Cantonese) will precede each live relay at different venues.
Admission to the live relays starting at 7pm on each night is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Online registration at www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/music/programs_809.html is necessary for the indoor relays at the auditoria. Audience members are advised to bring a mat or blanket for seating at the HKCC's Piazza.
The performances by the London Symphony Orchestra are presented by the LCSD. For enquiries on the concerts and the live relays, please call 2268 7321 or visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/cp.
