The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (October 30) the following arrangements for lifeguard services at its 39 gazetted beaches during the period between November 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022:
Deep Water Bay Beach, Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Silverstrand Beach and Golden Beach

(Lifeguard services suspended from December 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022)
Lifeguard services at the remaining 30 LCSD beaches will be suspended from November 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022 during winter. These beaches are South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Trio Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach and Clear Water Bay First Beach in Sai Kung District; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District; Butterfly Beach, Castle Peak Beach, Kadoorie Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach and Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District; Hoi Mei Wan Beach, Casam Beach, Lido Beach, Approach Beach, Anglers' Beach, Ting Kau Beach and Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach in Tsuen Wan District; and Tai Po Lung Mei Beach in Tai Po District.
The LCSD appeals to beach users to comply with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap 599G) on the prohibition of group gatherings of more than the number of people as stipulated by the law. Members of the public should wear masks at all times when being present in any public place with accordance to the Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Mask) Regulation (Cap 599I). Barbecue sites within gazetted beaches will continue to be closed.
The LCSD calls on members of the public to observe water safety while swimming. People should swim at the beaches only when lifeguard services are available. Please do not enter the water when the red flag is hoisted.
