Letter to awarding organisations – publishing details of grade aggregation approaches
On 1 October 2019 we sent a letter to responsible officers about publishing details of grading aggregation approaches.
This letter reminds awarding organisations about an issue during summer 2019 where changes were made to the grading algorithm used to calculate qualification grades within some qualifications on Key Stage 4 performance tables categorised by the Department for Education as ‘tech awards’.
We asked awarding organisations to review their published materials by 30 November 2019 and to confirm their position to us.
