LegCo to debate on Policy Address

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

The Legislative Council (LegCo) will conduct a remote meeting by videoconferencing tomorrow (February 16) at 11am, and Thursday (February 17) and Friday (February 18) at 9am. During the meeting, Members will debate on the 2021 Policy Address (motion debate). The motion moved by Ms Starry Lee is set out in Appendix 1.

In view of the severe epidemic situation in Hong Kong, and after considering Members' opinions and discussing with the Government, the President of the LegCo has decided to revise the sequence of the debate themes and grouping of policy areas for the four debate sessions. Members will first debate the theme of "Emerging from the Epidemic" to deliberate on the Government's measures to tackle the fifth wave of the epidemic, and then proceed to the remaining three debate sessions. The procedure for dealing with the motion debate and the updated grouping of policy areas are set out in Appendix 2.

Members will also ask the Government 22 questions on various policy areas, all of which require written replies.

The agenda of the above meeting can be obtained via the LegCo Website (www.legco.gov.hk). Members of the public can watch or listen to the meetings via the Webcast system on the LegCo Website. Archives of all open virtual meetings will also be available for public access via the system.
