LegCo to debate motion on seizing strategic opportunities to promote the integrated development of education, technology and talents in Hong Kong

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (January 22) at 11am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. During the meeting, Members will debate a motion on seizing strategic opportunities to promote the integrated development of education, technology and talents in Hong Kong. The motion, moved by Dr Starry Lee, is set out in Appendix 1. Mr Shang Hailong, Professor Chow Man-kong, Ms Chan Yuet-ming, Mr Dennis Leung and Professor Priscilla Leung will move separate amendments to Dr Lee's motion.

     Mr Gary Zhang will move a motion on enhancing regulation of the safety of construction works. The motion is set out in Appendix 2. Mr Louis Loong, Mr Tony Tse, Mr Michael Tien, Mr Lau Kwok-fan, Mr Dennis Leung, Dr Lo Wai-kwok, and Mr Chan Siu-hung will move separate amendments to Mr Zhang's motion.

     Members will also ask the Government 22 questions on various policy areas, six of which require oral replies.
