LegCo to continue conducting meetings remotely and special arrangements for Secretariat

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

As the COVID-19 epidemic remains severe, the meetings of the Legislative Council (LegCo) and its committees will continue to be conducted remotely until further notice. Members of the public can watch or listen to the meetings via the "Webcast" system on the LegCo Website (www.legco.gov.hk). Archives of all open virtual meetings will also be available for public access via the system.

Meanwhile, The Legislative Council Commission agreed the on-going special work arrangements for the staff of LegCo Secretariat (Secretariat) to be extended. Apart from those who are responsible for maintaining basic operation of LegCo and the Secretariat as well as emergency services, other Secretariat staff will work from home. Counter services of the Public Complaints Office (PCO) at the LegCo Complex will continue to be suspended. On-site services of the LegCo Library and Archives (Library and Archives) will also be suspended. The telephone enquiry services for the PCO, Library and Archives will be provided from 10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays).

The Secretariat has also implemented the "vaccine pass" arrangement yesterday (February 16). Only those who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed to enter the LegCo premises (i.e. the LegCo Complex, LegCo's offices at Citic Tower and Queensway Government Offices). Exemption will be granted to those medically unfit for vaccination as supported by a valid medical certificate, children aged under 12, and pregnant women, but they are required to undergo nucleic acid tests using nasopharyngeal swabs once every three days.

For the latest details of meetings, as well as details of the epidemic preventive measures and special arrangements implemented by the Secretariat, please refer to the LegCo Website (www.legco.gov.hk).

The Secretariat will review the aforementioned measures in accordance with the development of the epidemic and make further announcements in due course.
