LCSD presents online puppet theatre programme “BE Boy’s Adventure Time” in “Cheers!” Series
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is presenting the online puppet theatre programme "BE Boy's Adventure Time" by the arts group BE KIDS in its "Cheers!" Series, offering audiences a joyful experience when they are staying at their own homes. The first two episodes are now available on the department's Edutainment Channel.
In the four-episode programme, the main character BE Boy, who is a lively little boy, travels to the United States, Greece and France, and visits the countryside of Hong Kong. Through the different experiences of BE Boy, the programme aims to bring out the messages of environmental protection and cultural respect, and encourage children to explore culture and arts.
BE KIDS is a children's division of local arts group Banana Effect, dedicated to developing Chinese and Western puppet culture, as well as interactive puppet theatre. Instead of using a traditional question-and-answer approach of interaction, the group emphasises the audience's tangible experiences and sensory perceptions. Using puppets as a medium, the group has also designed a series of dynamic games to stimulate the audience's imagination, overcoming the limitations of space, terrain and time.
The free online programme "Cheers!" Series: "BE Boy's Adventure Time" by BE KIDS is conducted in Cantonese, and each episode is approximately 10 to 15 minutes long.
