The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (November 26) said that an outsourced cleaning service contractor worker has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The outsourced cleaning worker concerned worked at Kowloon Park Sports Centre in Yau Tsim Mong District. He last performed his duties on November 23. He had contact with a person with a confirmed case earlier. He sought medical treatment in a hospital on November 24 and has been treated under isolation since that day. He was notified today that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The worker has no recent travel history. He wore a surgical mask when performing duties and his body temperature was normal when he underwent temperature screening during work.

The LCSD has arranged a thorough cleaning and sterilisation at Kowloon Park Sports Centre according to guidelines provided by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP). The Sports Centre has been temporarily closed from 5pm today and will reopen at 7am on November 28.

The LCSD is highly concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP. Staff are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
