LCSD launches online programme “The Chelem Legend – Fool Moon” by the Train Theater from Israel

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has launched the free online programme "The Chelem Legend – Fool Moon" by the Train Theater from Israel.

Leizer and Leimech live in Chelem, a small city in Poland. One day, they find the moon was stolen and set out on an adventurous journey to find a new moon for the city. Some very funny stories are waiting for them.

Galia Levy-Grad, an artist who specialises in paper art, breathes life into the Chelem world by way of humour and innocence. A huge book turns into stage theatre through a "pop-up" technique combined with puppets and shadows.

The Train Theater is a renowned Israeli visual and puppet theatre for children. Based in Jerusalem since 1981, the troupe contains over 50 artists spanning three generations including puppeteers, designers, directors, musicians and others. The theatre offers a rich variety of productions through its diversity of artists including original performances, educational programmes, master classes and international exposure, such as art fairs for children, special projects for those in need and the annual Jerusalem Puppet Festival.
