LCSD and Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage sign second Letter of Intent on Cultural Exchange and Co-operation (with photo)

     Following the signing of the first Letter of Intent in 2019, the Acting Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Ms Eve Tam, today (September 25) signed the second Letter of Intent on Cultural Exchange and Co-operation with the Director of the Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, Dr Ren Wei, to establish closer ties on cultural exchange and collaboration between the two sides, facilitate the sharing of resources, and achieve complementarity and mutual benefits under the new agreement.

     The two sides will strive to strengthen exchange and collaboration, such as organising new exhibitions through co-curation and loan of exhibits, and holding exhibition-related educational programmes. Communication among museum professionals of both sides will be enhanced by knowledge sharing and training activities including museum forums and thematic seminars. Exchange and collaboration on heritage conservation will be enhanced. Co-operation plans will be formulated to promote research and education on Chinese history and culture. The two sides will also work closer to create synergy by exchanging information on co-organising major exhibitions with foreign museums.

     With the signing of the letter of intent, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage will jointly present a large-scale exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of History in 2024. More programmes and activities related to Chinese history and culture will also be provided for the citizens.
