     The Government announced today (March 10) that Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin and Rambler Garden Hotel, which are originally serving as designated quarantine facilities (DQFs) for foreign domestic helpers (FDHs), will be redeployed for other anti-epidemic use.

     A Government spokesperson said, "FDHs currently residing in or have reserved for staying in these two hotels on or before March 18 will be transferred to other designated quarantine hotels (DQHs) to undertake quarantine. As for the FDHs who have reserved for staying in these two hotels from March 19 onwards, employers or employment agencies (EAs) should reserve other DQFs/DQHs for these FDHs. Room fees already paid will be fully refunded. The Government would like to thank FDHs, employers and EAs for their understanding and co-operation."

     The above two hotels will inform those affected one by one, and make the following arrangements for FDHs residing in or who are planning to check into Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin or Rambler Garden Hotel to undertake compulsory quarantine:

  1. For FDHs staying in Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin whose quarantine completion date as specified on the compulsory quarantine order falls on or before March 11, they will continue to complete the quarantine there;
  2. For FDHs staying in Rambler Garden Hotel whose quarantine completion date as specified on the compulsory quarantine order falls on or before March 19, they will also continue to complete the quarantine there;

For the FDHs originally checking into Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin or Rambler Garden Hotel on or before March 18, the Government will arrange to transfer them to Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung and Empire Hotel Causeway Bay, Hong Kong respectively to continue with the quarantine. FDHs, employers or EAs concerned need not separately reserve a room for the FDHs to continue with the quarantine. Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin and Rambler Garden Hotel will refund the paid room fees for the remaining days of quarantine (Note 1). Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung and Empire Hotel Causeway Bay, Hong Kong will then inform the employers or EAs one by one of collecting the room fees for the remaining days of quarantine (Note 2); and
  4. For FDHs who are originally checking into Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin or Rambler Garden Hotel on or after March 19, the hotels will refund the paid room fees in full. Employers or EAs should make a reservation at other DQFs/DQHs.
