Latest opening arrangements for AMO venues
The Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) announced today (March 7) that some venues will be reopened on March 11 (Wednesday).
Venues to be reopened include Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui (only the special exhibition, "Treasures from Sacred Hill: Song-Yuan Period Archaeological Discoveries from Kai Tak" will be reopened) and Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre. The operation of all interactive exhibits and public events at both venues will remain suspended.
To avoid gathering of crowds and to foster social distancing, the AMO will adopt special measures at venues to be reopened. These measures include conducting temperature check for all visitors before entering the venues, advising visitors to wear their own masks before admission and limiting the number of visitors for each venue. Furthermore, cleansing and disinfection measures will be stepped up at both venues to minimise the risk of infection.
The other eight venues of the AMO (including Tai Fu Tai in San Tin, Old House of Wong Uk Village in Sha Tin, Fortified Structure in Ha Pak Nai, Wun Yiu Exhibition at the Sheung Wun Yiu Village in Tai Po, No. 10 San Wai in Wong Chuk Hang, Fong Yuen Study Hall on Ma Wan, Information Centre of Tung Chung Fort on Lantau Island and Information Centre of Tung Lung Fort on Tung Lung Chau in Sai Kung) will continue to be temporarily closed. All educational activities and docent services will be cancelled until further notice.
The AMO will continue to monitor the situation closely and review the arrangements in a timely manner.
