Land Registry staff member tests preliminarily positive for COVID-19

The Land Registry (LR) today (February 16) said that a staff member tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.

The staff member works on 28/F, Queensway Government Offices and is responsible for internal legal advisory work. She does not have contact with the public in her daily work. She has no recent travel history and last worked in office on February 10. Her body temperature was normal on the last day of work and she has been wearing a mask and following infection control measures at work.

Thorough cleaning and disinfection will be arranged at the premises concerned as soon as possible. The LR will also arrange staff of the same floor to undergo COVID-19 testing and work from home until a negative test result is obtained. The LR will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health in taking appropriate follow-up action.

The office of the LR on 28/F, Queensway Government Offices will be closed tomorrow (February 17) and will re-open on February 18. For enquiries about services of the LR, please call the LR Hotline on 3105 0000 or e-mail to csa@landreg.gov.hk. Subscribers of the Integrated Registration Information System Online Services requiring assistance on account management may also call the above hotline.

During the pandemic, the LR has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures, including providing masks and other personal protective equipment for staff, and stepping up the cleaning and sterilising measures for all offices. Staff members have been reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They have also been reminded to seek medical advice immediately if feel unwell.
