In view of the latest developments of the epidemic situation and in line with the Government's announcement on March 25 that government departments will resume public services gradually, the Inland Revenue Department announced today (April 1) that all offices will resume or continue to provide public services from April 4 onwards with the following opening hours:
Offices | Opening hours |
Central Telephone Enquiry | From 9am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday |
All other offices (including the Central Enquiry Counter, Business Registration Office (Note), Stamp Office, Collection Enforcement Sections and Refund Section) | From 9am to noon and from 1.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday |
(Note: In order to reduce the flow of people in the community, instant services for new application and amendment of business registration (BR) particulars and public search services in respect of application for BR documents over the counter will continue to be suspended. The department encourages applicants of public search services to apply for BR documents via GovHK at www.gov.hk/en/business/registration/businesscompany/index.htm, which is available 24 hours a day.)
All visitors entering or remaining in the department's premises are required to wear masks and to comply with infection control measures, including the use of the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile application, temperature checks and crowd control arrangements. Any visitor who fails to comply with the infection control measures will not be served and will be asked to leave the department's premises.
To reduce social contact, the department encourages the public to use electronic services to handle tax affairs as much as possible. A list of such services can be found in the department's webpage at www.ird.gov.hk/eng/ese/index.htm.
For enquiries, please call the department's hotline at 187 8088 during office hours.
The department will review the situation and make further announcements as necessary.
