The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, visited his “home state” of Uttar Pradesh for the first time as the President of India today (September 14, 2017). He commenced his visit to the State by paying tributes at the Dr. Ambedkar Mahasabha (Asthi Kalash) in Lucknow.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the first National Conference on “Uniformed Women in Prison Administration” here today. The two-day Conference for women officers in the ranks of Jailors to Dy. Superintendent of Prisons in States and UTs is being organised by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs. Dr. M. C. Borwankar, DG, BPR&D and senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, announced the expansion of its first joint International laboratory with National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science & Technology (AIST) Japan named as DBT-AIST International Laboratory for Advanced Biomedicine (DAILAB) to DAICENTER by signing a contract on September 13, 2017 in Delhi.
