The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, in his message on the eve of World Tuberculosis Day, which is observed every year on March 24, has said:-

“I am happy to learn that World Tuberculosis Day is being observed on 24th March, 2020 to commemorate the anniversary of Dr. Robert Koch’s discovery of the Tuberculosis (TB) bacteria in 1882.

There is no impact on Cargo Vessels. However, as per the directions of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, International cruise vessels arriving from foreign destinations are not allowed to call Indian Ports till 31st March 2020.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shall continue his interactions with various stakeholders in India’s fight against COVID-19.

Shri Modi, in his effort to contain the spread of the virus, has held discussions with the heads of various Electronic Media groups and the India Inc. through video conference today.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today interacted with industry representatives via video conference from ASSOCHAM, FICCI, CII and several local Chambers from eighteen cities across the country.

Prime Minister said that while the government was working on giving fillip to the pace of growth in the country, an unforeseen hurdle in the form of COVID-19 came in front of the economy.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in a series of tweets wrote this is just the beginning of a long battle against COVID-19 and there is a long way to go. He cautioned people against complacency and asked people to not consider it a success and celebrate.
