PIB sets up COVID19 Fact Check Unit

Press Information Bureau (PIB) has set up a portal – COVID 19 Fact Check Unit which will receive messages by email and send its response in quick time. PIB will also release a daily Bulletin at 8 pm every day to inform regarding Government’s decisions and developments and progress on COVID 19. The first bulletin was released today at 6.30 pm.

Furthermore, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has set up a Technical Group consisting of professionals from AIIMS, et al, to clarify any doubts in the minds of the general public on any technical aspect of COVID 19. The Ministry has also issued detailed Guidelines to deal with psychological issues amongst migrants.

FCI ramps up food grain supplies across the country during the lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak

Food Corporation of India (FCI) is ensuring uninterrupted supply of wheat and rice throughout the country during the lockdown period. FCI is fully prepared to meet not only the food grain requirement under National Food Security Act (NFSA) @5 KG/Month/Beneficiary but also any additional demand including supply of 5Kg/Person for next 3 months to 81.35 Crore people under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana.

Union Agriculture Minister Shri Tomar presented Rs.11 crore cheque as contribution by NCDC & Indian Potash Ltd towards PM CARES Fund

On the appeal of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and Indian Potash Limited have jointly contributed a sum of Rs.11 crore towards the PM CARES Fund in order to tackle the Covid-19 threat.

Over 70,000 km of aerial distance covered by Lifeline UDAN flights

                    Under Lifeline UDAN cargo flights operated till date, 56 out of the 74 flights, have been operated by the Air India Group. The flights over a six-day period (26-31 March 2020) have been operated by Air India, Alliance Air, IAF, Pawan Hans and private carriers.
