The Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari  has said that the Highways and Shipping sectors in India today are financially very sound and offer tremendous investment opportunities  under their respective  flagship programmes – Bharatmala and Sagarmala, as also other ongoing programmes.

Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution  highlighted on Food Corporation of India’s preparedness to meet its mandate under the National Food Security Act 2013 regime in four North Eastern States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Mizoram along with the status of implementation of NFSA in these States in a review meeting in Guwahati, today.

            The 28th lecture of the “Lecture Series” organized by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) was delivered by Dr. Rathin Roy, Director, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy here today on the topic “Why Fiscal Rectitude Matters ”.

            The speaker dealt with the structural roots of India’s fiscal and revenue deficits, explaining their historical roots and outlined governmental constraints in the budget making aspect of Indian public finance.

Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of Human Resource Development; and Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India led the Indian delegation to the 20th Conference of the Commonwealth Education Ministers (20CCEM) held in Nadi, Fiji during 19-23 February 2018.

            The second week of March will witness Andaman & Nicobar Command hosting a multinational mega event MILAN 2018. MILAN is a congregation of littoral navies conducted biennially by Indian Navy at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.
