The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today flagged off a train between Maduadih Railway Station in Varanasi, and Patna. He launched various development projects and addressed a public meeting at the DLW Grounds in Varanasi.

Training provided to 47826 tribal beneficiaries/entrepreneurs from 2014-15 to 2016-17

As far as Ministry of Tribal Affairs is concerned, small scale industries specific scheme has not been formulated for imparting training to tribals engaged in such industries. However, training is provided to tribal beneficiaries/entrepreneurs who are generally either unemployed or self-employed for value addition etc. in traditional skills like handicraft, tribal arts, sustainable harvesting and primary processing of minor forest produce and similar other products etc.  Following is the number of such training imparted during last three years:

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Reserve Bank of India

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The MoU was signed by Mr. Sudarshan Sen, Executive Director of the RBI and Dr. (Ms.) Mamta Suri, Executive Director of the IBBI in the august presence of Mr. Injeti Srinivas, Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Dr. M. S. Sahoo, Chairperson, IBBI and other distinguished Members of the Insolvency Law Committee (ILC) on the side-lines of the 4th meeting of the ILC at New Delhi.

Rs.231.50 Crore released for ‘Strengthening Education among ST Girls in Low Literacy Districts from 2012-13 to 2017-18

Based on Census figures, all India Scheduled Tribe (ST) female literacy rate has increased from 34.8% in 2001 to 49.4% in 2011. Ministry of Tribal Affairs has been implementing the scheme, ‘Strengthening Education among ST Girls in Low Literacy Districts’.

DRDO Workshop on International Women’s Day

Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative, Govt of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Chhering Dorjay,  today inaugurated a national workshop named “DRDO Initiative of Women Augmenting Services (DIWAS – 2018)” organised to celebrate the International Women’s Day by Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), the Leh based premier Life Sciences cluster laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
