Shri Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance today met President of ADB, Mr. Takehiko Nakao and requested him to support India’s endevour towards an inclusive, and sustainable growth accompanied by rapid economic transformation and job creation.

Shri R K Singh, Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, laid the foundation stone of the Underground Cabling Project in the Kumbh area of Haridwar today. The project is very significant as Haridwar is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India and a large number of devotees visit this holy city round the year.

Despite high consistent growth clocked by Haryana in the past couple of years, sustainability of its growth will depend on how fast it is able to reduce its inter-district disparity. Addressing a Press Conference after the detailed meeting with Govt of Haryana on a wide ranging issues, acting Chairman of 15th Finance Commission, Dr. Ashok Lahiri said that Haryana has improved its fiscal management and implemented IFMS and PFMS but the state has a long way to go to ensure appropriate quality of expenditure particularly capital expenditure which is necessary to fill the gap in expenditure needs for infrastructure.

The Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Satya Pal Singh presented the Takniki Pathya Pustak Puraskar for the year of  2015-16  to the distinguished writers of Hindi Books on Technical Subjects for their outstanding contribution in New Delhi today.
