To enhance the representation of women in the State Police, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has approved raising two women Battalions for Jammu and Kashmir Police.  One battalion each would be raised for Jammu region and Kashmir region.

In order to attract and retain the best quality teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges, the UGC has brought out new regulations. This was disclosed by Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar while addressing media persons in New Delhi today.

The Government has launched the second “Special Drive Refund Fortnight ”from 31.5.2018 to 14.6.2018. During the first Refund Fortnight from 15th to 29th March an amount of Rs.5350 crore was sanctioned and during this fortnight over Rs 7500 crore has been sanctioned.

Exercise SURYA KIRAN-XIII, a joint military training exercise between India & Nepal culminated today at Pithoragarh, wherein the troops of both Armies participated in 14-day long joint training based on counter terrorist operations.

            In a major decision to boost Affordable housing, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has approved the revision of the carpet area of houses eligible for interest subsidy under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) for the Middle-Income Group (MIG) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in respect of MIG I from “up to 120 square metre” to be increased to “up to 160 square metre” and, in respect of MIG II from “up to 150 square metre” to “up to 200 square metre”.
