Expressing concern over “clear signs of turbulence in the present world order’, the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu today urged the Heads of Indian Missions across the world to be agile and careful and defend the country’s interests, leveraging India’s moral and material strengths to influence the global discourse through carefully strategised diplomatic response.

The President, Shri Ramnath Kovind, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, several Governors, Chief Ministers and several prominent persons today extended greetings and good wishes to the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, on his 69th Birthday.

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in presence of Shri Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications and Minister of State for Railways and Shri P. P. Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs & Law and Justice amongst senior officials of ICAI here today.

Government of India celebrated the 1st GST Day here today. The event saw an address on the eventful 1st year journey of GST over a live video link by Union Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley. Union Minister for Railways, Coal, Finance & Corporate Affairs, Shri Piyush Goyal presided over as the Chief Guest of the event and Minister of State for Finance, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla was the Guest of Honour.

            Commander Abhilash Tomy of the Indian Navy is all set to head off on a unique voyage. The officer is the only invitee from Asia to participate in the prestigious Golden Globe Race (GGR) that commences from Les Sables d’Olonne harbour in France today.
