Shwet Ashwa Drass Expedition

1.     Shwet Ashwa, the elite motorcycle display team of the Corps of Military Police, commenced a motor cycle expedition from Bengaluru to Drass on 2nd July 2018 as a tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war. After a gruelling ride through the Western Ghats and encountering heavy rains at Mumbai and Jaipur, the expedition reached New Delhi on 13th Jul 2018 from where it will be flagged off for Drass on 16th July 2018 by the Adjutant General Lt Gen Ashwani Kumar, AVSM, VSM.

ASI issues order to permit photography within the premises of centrally protected monuments/sites.

The Archaeological Survey of India, an organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in an order issued today, decided to allow photography within the premises of all centrally protected monuments/sites (except 3). However, the 3 monuments/sites in which the photography would not be permitted are Ajanta Caves and LehPalace having paintings, and Mausoleum of Taj Mahal, Agra.

Vice President and President of ICWA appoints Director General of ICWA

The Vice President of India and the President of ICWA, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has appointed Dr. T.C.A. Raghavan (IFS: 1982) as the Director General, ex officio Member-Secretary of the Council, ICWA. The decision was taken in the meetings of the Governing Body and Governing Council of the Indian Council of World Affairs held, here today.

22 school children from Leh ( J&K) meet the MoS Home, Kiren Rijiju

A group of 22 school children from Leh  region of Jammu & Kashmir called on the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, here today. The students in the age group of 14-17 years are on a Bharat Darshan Tour  from 10th  to 22 July 2018.
