The Fifteenth Finance Commission of the Government of India is visiting the state of Gujarat from 22nd to 25th July 2018. The Commission led by the Chairman ShriN.K.Singh, Members – ShriShaktikanta Das, Dr. Anoop Singh, Dr. Ashok Lahiri, Dr. Ramesh Chand and Secretary ShriArvind Mehta along with other officialswill have meetings with Chief Minister, Ministers and other officials of the state.

            The Election Commissioner Shri Sunil Arora today visited Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore. BEL has established state-of-the-art secure manufacturing facilities for manufacture of digital certified EVM/VVPATs as per the advise of Technical Experts Committee of ECI. Shri Sunil Arora also reviewed the status of Progress of production of EVMs and VVPATs.

Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted a one-day meeting of directors of 59 institutes of higher learning in the fields of information technology, engineering science and technology, and planning and architecture, today (July 19, 2018).

In the National Programme,under NHM, for Prevention and Control of Cancer, diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) and Stroke (NPCDCS),programmes  forprevention, control and screening for common cancers i.e. oral, breast and cervical, are being implemented in more than 150 districts.
