Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led government as compared to the previous governments has taken several important steps for the improvement of living standards of farmers and the upliftment of agriculture sector.

The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today interacted with Field Officials entrusted with the implementation of Pradhan Mnatri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), in connection with successful achievement of release of 5 crore connections within a short span of 28 months, which is 8 months ahead of the original target period.

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that scientific institutions to nurture talent and foster path-breaking innovations to transform the socio-economic landscape of the country.

The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, accompanied by team of officers from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), visited flood/landslides affected areas of Dimapur and Kohima districts today and reviewed the search, rescue and relief measures taken by the State Government and other Central Government agencies with the Nagaland Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio, Home Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officers of the State administration.

Several farmers from rural Delhi and Haryana met the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu and thanked him for his efforts to make agriculture sustainable and profitable through convening the National Consultation Meetings across the country.
