Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari said in Shillong today, that the Centre will spend 1 lakh 50 thousand crore rupees on improving National Highways in the  North Eastern states.

He is in the south Indian Ocean, approximately 1900 nautical miles WSW from Perth, Australia and about 2700 nm from Cape Comorin.
